VCam crashes when trying to add Media file background

I am able to add YouTube videos and websites, but not a local pic. Ver 2.1.2102.2601.

Are the local images in a network drive? VCam does not support files using UNC path.
If this is the case for you, you can:

Map the path as a driver so you can add any media file from that drive. Here’s a guide on how to map a network drive https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026635/windows-10-map-a-network-drive
OR
Copy the files to your machine drive and add it in VCam.

We are also soon gonna add a file limit to background files.
We recommend adding video files that are less then 500MB.

Thanks for the procedure. My image files are all on my local C: drive. The issue is I don’t even get that far to chosse a file; the app crashes (or restarts) when I click the “Media file” selection in the Add Background popup list.

Is there a local folder path that I can manually copy image files to? I could not find it.

It should work adding media file from any local folder.

May I know what is your VCam installation path? i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\SplitmediaLabs\XSplit VCam.
And please check if you have the default backgrounds installed in C:\ProgramData\SplitMediaLabs\XSplit VCam\Default Backgrounds and try to re-add them in your backgrounds.

chesyrambo, yes, I used default path for installation : C:\Program Files (x86)\SplitmediaLabs\XSplit VCam

I do see the Default Backgrounds folder with four backgrounds there. How would you like me to re-add them if it crashes before I get to the point of selecting a file?

Ah yeah sorry bout that. Please generate a debugview log. Here’s the guide: https://www.xsplit.com/support/useful-tools/generating-debugview-logs (Follow the steps for Gamecaster).

When recreating the issue for debugview log, please follow the steps below. Make sure you exit VCam first.

  1. Run VCam
  2. Add background
  3. Save the debugviewlog
